Heya!

Scott here - the 'Double Points' period is over, and I bring more details from HQ regarding the Quick Draw Tourney!

So, as you may have seen, we've filled up half the slots for the tournament! If you submitted your comic at any point between our announcement of the QDT and November 14th, you're part of the 16 who have registered! What this means, of course, is that you can now submit your intention to join the Quick Draw Tournament without having to submit an intro comic! Huzzah!

Registration ends on the very end of this year, and no, we'll be in Sinnoh celebrating the new year. Not in Snowpoint though - too much Diamond Dust.

Again, the details:

What it is: The Quick Draw Tournament is a Splash Battle Tournament. Splash Battles are one-submission battles (a one-v-one battle) and the objective is to encapsulate the entire battle into just one submission.

Who can join: Trainers and Judges - if you are a Judge, you are exempted from judging during the entirety of the tournament. If you are not a Trainer (yet), it's easy to join - check out the 'Join' link on the sidebar of this journal!

When can I join?:Early bird registrations are ongoing until November 14th, and regular registrations continue until December 31st.

What are the requirements?: Until November 14th, you are required to submit an entry comic of up to two submissions large. After November 14th, you are free to enter without a comic, although one is advised.

We have been doing negotiations with your various regional Leagues throughout this week and have gotten approval for the second tournament of 2010 (we'll give you details about that next year). Boss K is feeling generous, so guess what - the prize pool has increased!

The prizes so far:

You may have noticed the new Judges starting their work before we even announced them - well, here they are! Welcome your new Judges:

We're unleashing the gates! You can now create up to 2 additional OCs and expand your adventures! For more information, check out our expanded joining rules: [link]

The short of it is that you need to meet our minimum requirements before you will be allowed to create additional trainers. And we always know who they belong to, so be nice.

In addition, we've now changed the instructions for joining - instead of sending us a note for joining and creating new trainers, we will now direct you to fill out a form: [link] . We'll still accept notes until the end of November, but after that, we will be ignoring all subsequent notes of application unless they're to notify us that they applied through the form.

If you have been paying attention to Scott's annoying tweets, I have bought an airship to facilitate travel between Hoenn and Challenger Island, and to fix the issue regarding the Spheal swarm in HQ.

We Admins have been carefully observing the discussions happening around the League - first with multiple OCs, and then with the Coalition System, to gauge public opinion on the matter. We feel that while multiple OCs (with restrictions) is a good way for deviants to expand storylines and create new characters, IPL is currently too small to handle the Coalition System. So essentially: Multiple OCs in, Coalition System out (for now). Coalitions as a feature will be parked until we feel that League has enough Trainers running around for this to happen, and will probably resurface (still called the Coalition System) with more robust rules and regulations. Let me make it clear that both these initiatives are OPTIONAL: You are not required to create new OCs or form a Coalition (in future). However, these are options made available for you, to allow everyone the chance to get together with others and create great art.

You might notice a few changes. We're updating all of the pages on our sidebar, adding new questions to the FAQs, updating the rankings (as usual), we've modified the rules for joining, and the points gophers are going around preparing things for Christmas.

Through it all we're really enjoying listening to what you have to say and suggest, and welcome it all - if you think it would improve the experience here at the League, let us know.
